The system is designed to be very easy to operate. It only requires one person, no hand tools are necessary and it allows rapid assembly and dismantling by using quick release couplings throughout.

The chosen brush is secured to the ferret by hand and control is provided by a foot valve. Air is delivered via a filter lubrication unit. The ferret can be placed into the barrel breech or muzzle end, it travels along the barrel and on reaching the other end the direction of brush travel is reversed and it will automatically power back down the barrel towards the operator. Average cycle time is one minute for a double pass. We can provide suitable diesel driven compressors to drive the Airnesco Bore Cleaning System.

This system is presently in use with the British Army and Navy and has been found to be very effective.
